Chapter 02The work

Every good website begins with somebody's real problem.

These are live businesses and ongoing relationships—not fictional concepts. Each story explains the problem, the thinking and the quiet work that continues after launch.

What I show

Not just the finished screen—the decisions behind it.

A website can look polished and still leave customers confused. The work shown here starts with the questions people actually ask and follows the relationship beyond the day the site went live.

Story 01 · A real client story

Cedarcroft Nurseries

A long-running partnership supporting a seasonal nursery business, its public website and online customer journey.

The situation

Cedarcroft needs one website to support year-round nursery services and a highly seasonal Christmas-tree operation, while remaining manageable as products and opening information change.

What I do

I maintain the WordPress and WooCommerce foundation, make ongoing content and commerce changes, and provide direct technical support when the business needs it.

Story 02 · A real client story

Self Storage North Cornwall

A focused local-service website that helps visitors understand the offer, compare sizes and move towards booking.

The situation

Storage customers need quick reassurance about security, location, access, sizes and price—often while comparing several providers on a phone.

What I do

I put the practical buying questions first, used clear calls to action, and kept live prices and availability close to the decision.

What a screenshot cannot show

Restoring a broken form. Updating a seasonal catalogue at the right moment. Fixing email delivery. Explaining a technical choice before money is spent. Improving the mobile journey after seeing how customers use it. This quiet work is part of the story too.
