Convert only what the client cannot play.
Finetic analyses the source file, selected tracks, playback preferences and reported client capabilities before choosing one explicit delivery plan.

Designed as a system, experienced as a product.
The technical depth remains available without turning the normal viewing experience into a server dashboard.
Four playback paths, one decision
Playback planning happens on the Finetic server so browser, Fire TV and Android clients do not independently invent conflicting compatibility rules.
- Direct Play when the original container and streams are safe for the client
- Remux when compatible streams only need a different container
- Audio-only conversion while preserving compatible source video
- Full video transcoding for unsupported video, quality limits or HDR adaptation
Playback decisions remain explainable
Administrators can inspect the selected method, codecs, client capabilities, hardware backend, queue state and reason codes behind a session.
Playback diagnostics include safe identifiers and relevant session context so failures can be investigated without exposing credentials or raw secrets.
The player and server share one lifecycle
Session ownership, progress, heartbeats, track choices, telemetry, next-episode transitions and recovery actions are coordinated through the same playback contracts. Guest playback uses that engine as well; it is not a separate basic video player.
The selected path remains visible.
Active sessions, plan facts, queue state and hardware evidence stay inspectable.
