Release and evidence policy

Every release should explain what changed and what was verified.

Finetic distributes signed compiled releases and publishes structured release notes. This policy describes the current pre-release process without promising support terms that have not yet been commercially approved.

How Finetic approaches it

Designed as a system, experienced as a product.

The technical depth remains available without turning the normal viewing experience into a server dashboard.

02

Updates verify before replacing the runtime

The updater validates the signed manifest, archive structure and expected runtime entries. Docker installations replace the application container while retaining PostgreSQL and persistent volumes. Administrators should create or verify a backup before material upgrades.

03

Rollback must respect database compatibility

Container rollback can restore a pinned application image when its database schema remains compatible. If a release changed durable schema incompatibly, restore the matching pre-update database backup rather than attaching an older runtime to newer state.

04

Evidence has confidence boundaries

Internal automated or physical-device results are labelled as internal evidence. Documentation claims remain lower confidence until directly exercised. Performance results name the exact environment and version; later code does not inherit an earlier benchmark result without a rerun.

05

Current support boundary

Finetic is in public server pre-release evaluation. Questions and reproducible defect reports are accepted through hello@youngstudio.uk, but final response targets, maintenance duration, paid support entitlement and end-of-life terms remain pending commercial publication.
