Your media belongs to you. Our data boundaries should be just as clear.

This notice explains what Young Studio receives when you visit the Finetic website, evaluate the self-hosted server, use a Finetic client, request support or interact with commercial entitlement services.

How Finetic approaches it

Designed as a system, experienced as a product.

The technical depth remains available without turning the normal viewing experience into a server dashboard.

02

What the Fire TV and Android clients use

A Finetic client stores the paired server address, revocable device credentials, device identity and local interface preferences so it can connect to the server chosen by the user. The paired server receives device model and platform information, catalogue requests, playback capability reports, progress and playback diagnostics required to provide and troubleshoot streaming.

Device credentials are stored in platform-protected storage. They can be revoked by the server administrator through Devices & Sessions, and uninstalling the client removes its local application data. The clients do not contain advertising SDKs and do not send media titles, playback history or credentials to the public website analytics service.

03

Website, evaluation and entitlement information

The public website uses a self-hosted, cookie-free Umami service for anonymous page, referrer, coarse client and performance measurements. Query strings, fragments, form contents, documentation searches, session replay and advertising identifiers are excluded. Raw website events and anonymous sessions are retained for 13 months.

When an installation activates an evaluation or commercial entitlement, Young Studio may receive the submitted email address, installation identity, opaque customer identity, installed version, platform, licence state and entitlement check timing and result. This information is used to provide the requested evaluation or service, prevent abuse, issue signed operating leases, deliver entitled releases and support the installation.

04

Support and account choices

Support messages contain the contact details and technical evidence a person chooses to provide. Do not send passwords, licence tokens, private media links, API keys or unredacted configuration files. Diagnostic material should be previewed and redacted before it is shared.

You may ask for access to, correction of or deletion of personal information held by Young Studio by emailing hello@youngstudio.uk. A server administrator controls local Finetic accounts and household records. Where UK data-protection law applies, you may also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

05
