Download and Verify Finetic for Windows

Download Finetic for Windows v0.2.15, verify the x64 installer checksum and understand the unsigned public-preview installation warning.

Current release#

Finetic for Windows v0.2.15 is available as an x64 public-preview installer. It connects to a Finetic Media Server selected and authorised by the user; it does not include media or access to a third-party streaming catalogue.

Download Finetic_0.2.15_x64-setup.exe

The stable Young Studio address redirects to the versioned asset in the official Finetic Windows release repository. GitHub serves the installer bytes, so downloads do not consume the Finetic website host's binary-transfer allowance.

Verify the download#

Download the published checksum file, or calculate the hash in PowerShell:

Example
Get-FileHash .\Finetic_0.2.15_x64-setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256

The complete result must be:

Example
71961C7C927C73F845C687D54D16797B1016609FD6A3119EF2342CE475C5ECDD

The verified installer size is 38,744,140 bytes. Do not run a file with a different size or checksum as this release.

Unsigned public-preview notice#

The current installer is not code-signed. Windows may therefore show Unknown publisher or a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen warning.

  • Do not disable Microsoft Defender or another security product.
  • Download only through youngstudio.uk or github.com/360john360/finetic-windows-releases.
  • Verify the complete SHA-256 checksum before running the installer.
  • If the browser blocks the direct file link, open the official release page above and download the asset named Finetic_0.2.15_x64-setup.exe.

Code signing and application functionality are separate. The warning identifies the absence of a publicly trusted publisher certificate; it is not evidence that the checksum can be skipped.

Install and connect#

  1. Verify the downloaded installer.
  2. Run Finetic_0.2.15_x64-setup.exe and follow the installation prompts.
  3. Open Finetic for Windows.
  4. Connect only to a Finetic Media Server you administer or are authorised to use.
  5. Sign in with the account supplied by that server administrator.

The Windows application is a client. Install the Finetic server with Docker Compose separately if you do not already operate one.

Preview and support boundary#

Version 0.2.15 is public-preview software. Features, interfaces and compatibility may change. When reporting a problem, include the Windows client version and a safe description of the server version and symptom; never send passwords, session tokens, unrestricted media links or private file paths.

The Finetic Software Licence Agreement applies to the compiled client.
